Big Bud is an Indica-dominant marijuana strain and a classic developed by Sensi Seeds. It is a plant that indoor growers are passionate about. Its name translates as “big bud”, which gives us an idea of its greatest virtue.
Big Bud is the predecessor of the more than famous Critical Mass of Mr Nice. The original Sensi Seeds clone was acquired when they bought all the rights from The Seed Bank. And it was a robust Afghanica x Skunk hybrid.
In order to bring it to growers, it was combined with a very special Afghani, resulting in the Big Bud we know today.
Since its presentation in the early 2000s, it has won several awards. The most important, a first prize in the Highlife Cup in 2004.
How to grow Big Bud
Our Big Bud bulk marijuana seeds are very easy to grow and super resistant. Even the least experienced grower will achieve above average yields.
Despite being a variety developed to meet the demands of the indoor grower, outdoors it proves to be solid and reliable.
It grows with a columnar structure typical of some Afghan Indicas, with contained lateral branches and concentrating the production in a thick and long apical.
The flowering period is short and it is harvested during the second half of September. This allows its cultivation in areas with short summers, although given its floral density it is somewhat susceptible to fungi in high humidity conditions.
As we said, indoors is where it shows all its power. Due to its columnar growth, it is the perfect variety for the most spectacular SOG crops.
In addition, due to its fast flowering period (55-60 days), it is ideal for intensive cultivation when a good mother plant is available to supply the necessary amount of cuttings.
Characteristics of Big Bud
Big Bud has a refined, smooth, spicy and fruity aroma and flavor. A delight even for the most exquisite palate. It also produces a really tasty hash.
As for the effects, it produces a powerful and long-lasting physical high that mixes with a cerebral high inherited from the Sativa genes of Skunk.
Big Bud is famous for its high yields. Whether small or large plants, they all produce large clumps of hard, resinous buds.
Outdoors, yields can reach 800-900 grams per plant. Indoors it is not complicated to get close to 600 grams per m2 in optimized crops.
