What are fast flowering seeds?

Fast flowering seeds combine a photoperiod strain with a small dose of autoflowering genetics. The result is a plant that still depends on the light cycle, so you decide when it flowers, but finishes its bloom much sooner than the original strain. You keep the size, yield and control of a photoperiod plant, with harvest times closer to an autoflower.

They sit right between feminised photoperiod seeds and autoflower seeds, and are all female-only.

Advantages of fast flowering strains

• Shorter bloom: most finish in 6–8 weeks of flowering. Caramel needs only 7 weeks, and OG Kush 6–7 weeks.
• Early outdoor harvests: ideal for cold or rainy climates like the UK and northern Europe. Mandarin Caramel is harvested outdoors in early September.
• Less risk: finishing before the autumn rain means less risk of mould and bad weather.
• More harvests: indoors, shorter bloom means more crops per year.
• Full photoperiod control: unlike autos, you can extend the vegetative stage to grow bigger plants.

Fast flowering or autoflower?

Choose autoflowers if you want the simplest grow and do not want to manage light cycles. Choose fast flowering seeds if you want bigger plants and yields, the option to clone, and a harvest that is still weeks ahead of a classic photoperiod strain. Outdoors, fast flowering strains planted in spring are usually ready by early autumn.
