Mint Runtz Feminized Seeds

The first thing that stands out about Mint Runtz is the layer of trichomes covering its compact, sparkling flowers. The resin also reaches the small leaves close to the buds, a trait that makes this strain an interesting choice for producing hash and extracts.

Its lineage combines Gelato, Zkittlez, and Thin Mints. Gelato provides the creamy base, Zkittlez strengthens the fruity sweetness, and Thin Mints leaves a fresh, herbal, and spicy background. Some phenotypes develop dark green, purple, pink, or reddish shades as they mature.

How to Control Its Stretch and Flowering

Its growing difficulty is moderate. It is better suited to growers with some experience in controlling the canopy, humidity, and branch support. During the transition to flowering, it can double in size and continue stretching for several weeks after switching to a 12/12 light cycle.

One grower who took it to week 9 of flowering told us that it was still stretching strongly, although it remained healthy-looking. Another noticed slightly weak stems in week 11 and linked this to poor ventilation. It is therefore best to open the plant with LST or gentle pruning, keep the air moving, and install a net or stakes before the buds become too heavy.

It responds well to topping when performed early enough. It can also adapt to Sea of Green because of its tendency to concentrate its main flowers on medium-sized plants. Outdoors, it benefits from a climate with a sufficiently long season and no excessive humidity at the end of flowering.

The usual flowering time is 8-9 weeks, although some phenotypes may need close to 10. To decide when to harvest, inspect the trichomes on the flowers rather than only those on the sugar leaves. Wait until milky glands are dominant and adjust the harvest time according to the presence of amber trichomes.
