Portela Feminized Seeds

Portela does not start softly: it begins with explosive roots, a firm stem and branching that asks for space. It is a sativa hybrid with a Jamaican soul, born from the cross between a Lambsbread-type genetic line with Blue Mountains vibes and an Icer male.

What makes it special is how it combines sativa drive with flowers that are more compact than usual. By the end of flowering, it forms loaded calyxes, dense buds, an oily texture and a resin layer that gives it that highly sought-after frosted look.

Its aroma moves between haze, incense, earth, citrus and a marked sour background. In the mouth it leaves lemon, fruity notes, bitter hash and a kush or incense-like aftertaste depending on the phenotype, as if the Jamaican side had been sharpened with a layer of dark resin.

How Portela Behaves in the Grow

Bulk Genetics breeders see it as a moderately demanding strain: easy indoors if it receives good light, proper watering and organic nutrition. In the vegetative stage it appreciates humidity, while in flowering it can tolerate warmer or drier environments.

A grower who worked with it several times told us that Portela stretched strongly when the photoperiod changed, going from 17 cm to 107 cm, with medium-long internodal distance and good branching for SCROG. Another highlighted its fast vegetative growth, how easy it was to take cuttings, and its huge, resinous buds that were easy to trim.

Indoors it sits around 150 cm and usually finishes in about 9 weeks, although large plants can get close to 10. Outdoors, with direct sun and space, it can reach 300 cm and be harvested in early October or during the first half of October in the northern hemisphere. In flowering it smells strong: use a carbon filter or ozonizer if you grow indoors.
