Critical Mass is a variety of marijuana that, without fear to be mistaken, we can affirm that it is the most cultivated in the world. And there are many reasons for this.
Do you want an easy and resistant variety? And that it also has a short flowering period? And that she is also rich? And powerful? Critical Mass will offer you all this and much more.
Critical Mass is one of the first strains developed by Mr Nice seed bank, where breeders Shantibaba and Nevil Schoenmakers worked side by side based on an old Big Bud from The Seed Bank.
It is a hybrid with a slight Indica dominance crossing of Afghani x Skunk, very recurrent combination from the middle of the 90s.
It is also one of the most versioned varieties and used for the development of new genetics. From Critical + and Critical 2.0 of Dinafem, to Critical of Advanced Seeds.
How to grow Critical Mass
We always recommend this variety for those who are venturing into their first crop, because it really is one of the easiest to grow. It is resistant like few others and with little care it guarantees first class harvests.
Outdoors, if it has enough space, it can exceed 2.5 meters in height and another 2.5 meters in circumference. In these cases the production is immense.
Due to the density of the buds, they are somewhat sensitive to humidity. When grown in humid climates, some pruning is advisable. The buds will be smaller, but also much more numerous.
The flowering period is very short. It begins to bloom between the end of July and the beginning of August. And during the second half of September you will already be harvesting.
Indoors it is not a challenge for the grower, it is one of the easiest plants to grow. But its stretching in the pre-flowering phase must be taken into account. Make sure that the plants do not exceed 30 cm before changing the photoperiod so that they do not grow too tall.
Something typical of Critical is the intense smell of its buds, which makes it necessary to use a good anti-odor system to avoid possible problems.
The flowering period is very short, even shorter than that of many fast version varieties. You will be able to harvest 45-55 days after the photoperiod change to 12/12.
Characteristics of Critical Mass
The buds are huge, dense and very resinous, the desire of every grower. It is a variety with a great yield in any type of extraction due to its great return.
The aroma and flavor is intense, with very clear notes of citrus (lemon and lime), and a fruity and herbal undertone that will activate your taste buds with every puff.
The effects are powerful. After a very psychoactive beginning where it shows its Sativa genes, comes a relaxing and pacifying descent, always keeping happy sensations.
On average, with our cheap Critical Mass seeds you will get yields between 800 and 900 grams per plant. But it will not be complicated to exceed 1000 grams per plant if you start the cultivation in early spring, directly in soil or in a large container.
Indoors, you will not need experience in cultivation to reach 600 g/m² with a good LED panel. The most experienced growers will have no problem reaching 750 grams per m².
