Super Lemon Haze
Super Lemon Haze crosses the multiple champion Super Silver Haze with Lemon Skunk. The result is a near-perfect sativa-dominant strain. It does well indoors, but it really shines outdoors, where it reaches an impressive 8–10 ft. Its structure is classic sativa, with widely spaced internodes and slender, blade-like leaves. Its buds are extremely resinous and give off an intense, sweet lime and lemon aroma. A wave of positive energy rushes through your body and mind and keeps you high for hours.
Super Lemon Haze is considered by the cannabis community to be one of the great Haze hybrids of all time, alongside Jack Herer, Super Silver Haze, Silver Haze and NL5xHaze, among others.
It's a strongly sativa-dominant strain developed by Greenhouse, which crossed the multi-award-winning Super Silver Haze with a Lemon Skunk that amps up its lemon flavor.
Since its release, Super Lemon Haze has won major awards such as best strain at the High Times Cannabis Cup in 2008 and 2009, as well as first prize in the sativa category at the IC 420 Growers Cup in 2010.
Growers and smokers alike rave about its powerful lemony Haze flavor and strong sativa effects.
How to grow Super Lemon Haze
Despite its sativa dominance, it's a very easy plant to manage, even indoors. But it really shows its full potential outdoors, in very sunny areas with a dry early fall, like California or the Southwest.
Outdoors, if you germinate the seeds in early spring, it will grow very tall, sometimes over 10 ft. Its structure is typically sativa, with widely spaced nodes, long, very flexible branches and leaves with very slender leaflets.
The flowering period is fairly short, since it's harvested between mid and late October. In the final weeks the branches will almost certainly start to bend under the weight of the buds, so you'll need stakes.
Indoors you'll need a training technique to keep its height under control. Simple topping to get 4 main branches is a quick, effective fix.
From the switch to 12/12, it's ready to harvest in about 9–10 weeks. During that time the buds keep swelling and pumping out huge amounts of trichomes.
Super Lemon Haze traits
Yields are outrageous, reaching 32 oz (2 lb) per plant outdoors on the biggest plants. Indoors it gives up to 1.8 oz per sq ft under a 300–350 W LED.
It produces buds that will make anyone wonder whether they're indica or sativa. They're bulky but also extremely dense and especially resinous. Dry sifting or ice-water extraction turns out top-grade hash.
The aroma and flavor are a delight: anyone who has tried Super Silver Haze will find them similar, but with a much more citrusy, sour lime and lemon twist over a tropical background.
The effects lift you up right away, with a very energetic, euphoric high that lasts for hours. It's ideal for daytime smoking and creative projects.
