Swiss Chocolate CBD is the perfect strain if you want the full character of cannabidiol and a great flavor, without the typical high of cannabis. It has practically no THC and is very easy to grow, big and productive. Its flavor will remind you of fine Swiss chocolate: very refined and full-bodied on the palate.
Swiss Chocolate CBD is one of our new CBD-rich strains with practically no THC, as levels of this cannabinoid stay below 0.25%. It's perfect if you're interested in CBD but don't want the typical high of cannabis.
To create it, we started with genetics that came into our hands more than 20 years ago. Its origin is uncertain, although it seems to come from Kush stock. Its intense chocolate flavor led us to call it Swiss Chocolate. Our highest-CBD mother was the other key piece, and we managed to get offspring with stable and very, very low THC levels.
It's an easy strain to grow indoors and outdoors, very vigorous and with the classic Christmas-tree structure: lots of side branches around a large main cola.
Outdoors, if you plant it out early in the season, it reaches an impressive height of 8-10 ft, with large leaves and medium internode spacing.
Flowering is short, and it's harvested in the first half of October. Some phenotypes are even faster and will be ready by the end of September.
Indoors it adapts to any growing technique, especially SOG if you select a mother with columnar, less branchy growth.
Once flowering begins, the smell gets very pungent, so if you want to avoid problems, set up a good carbon filter. From the light flip, you'll harvest in about 8-9 weeks.
The buds are big, rock-hard and incredibly resinous. Any extract fan will enjoy turning them into the tastiest hash or BHO.
The aroma and flavor stay true to its Swiss Chocolate mother, with intense chocolate notes and touches of earth and citrus.
CBD levels are consistently around 15%, while THC sits between 0.20% and 0.25%. There's no high, but it brings a feeling of relaxation and well-being that doesn't stop you from doing anything you need to do.
Yields are very high: on the largest plants you can expect up to 32 oz. Indoors it won't be hard to get around 1.8 oz per sq ft with a 300-350 W LED light.
