Banana OG

Banana OG characteristics

Banana OG feminised seeds

What sets Banana OG apart is clear straight away in its aromatic profile: a dense, ripe banana, closer to overripe fruit than to artificial sweets. Underneath, it keeps the earthiness, resin, subtle spice and soft pine typical of its Kush background.

The OG Kush x Banana cross explains this combination well. The first brings earthy depth, resin and body; the second pushes the profile towards sweet, creamy tropical fruit. The result is a photoperiod hybrid with an indica lean and a potency of around 21% THC, which can approach 25% depending on phenotype, growing conditions and sample. According to analyses by our breeders, this range can vary between plants and conditions.

In flower it forms medium-sized, compact or sturdy plants with a manageable structure. Some selections develop relatively thin branches, while the buds tend to be dense, aromatic and coated in resin.

How Banana OG behaves in the grow

Our breeders consider it relatively accessible for beginner to intermediate growers who already know the basics of a photoperiod plant. Indoors it needs a change of light cycle to start flowering, and it completes this phase in around 8-9 weeks, roughly 60 days.

It can also be grown outdoors, where it follows the seasonal cycle. Because its flowers are so dense, keep a close eye on humidity towards the end of flowering. Good ventilation and avoiding excess inner foliage help reduce problems around the most compact buds.

Effects of Banana OG

Banana OG is known for a creeper-style effect: it starts with a pleasant, relatively gentle mental uplift, then gradually gains weight until it becomes more physical, heavy and sedating. That makes it a particularly good fit for late afternoons or evenings, when you have nothing demanding ahead of you.

Growers and consumers agree on its marked potency and intense relaxation. In generous amounts it brings a clear couch-lock feeling, euphoria and general well-being, and for those with low tolerance it can be very dazing even in small doses. Notably, the smoke feels especially smooth despite its intensity.

On the palate it shows a very OG base with pine, a slightly citrusy note and subtle banana on the exhale; in some phenotypes, sweet ripe banana runs through the whole smoke and the OG character comes through more strongly at the end. It is a blend of ripe tropical fruit and a Kush background that starts sweet and finishes with a much deeper, more resinous impression.
