Some genetics catch the eye for a single quality; Critical Jack brings several together. Its vigorous growth leads to large, fleshy flowers smothered in trichomes, with very heavy resin production. The Haze backbone supports an aromatic profile featuring lemon, citrus, pine, wood, cedar, incense, earth, pepper, spice and sweet touches.

The Critical+ × Jack Herer cross explains much of its personality. Critical+ brings speed, yield and flower density, while Jack Herer adds vigour and a cerebral, aromatic character. The result is a roughly 60% sativa and 40% indica genetic, with an open, branchy structure and medium height.

Its buds can develop swollen calyxes and a striking coat of resin. Indoors, in optimal conditions, yields can reach around 625 g/m². THC sits at around 20%, according to our breeders’ analyses.

How Critical Jack behaves in the grow

Critical Jack can be grown indoors and outdoors. It shows vigorous, even and hardy growth, and copes well with insects and disease. Its open structure helps both light penetration and airflow. All of this makes it accessible to growers with basic or intermediate experience.

Flowering usually finishes in around 60-63 days, roughly 8-9 weeks. Our breeders pay particular attention to the marked stretch at the start of flowering: avoid dragging out the vegetative stage if your vertical space is limited. Outdoors it thrives in dry, sunny, mild and Mediterranean climates, with harvest typically between late September and mid-October.

Critical Jack effects

With around 20% THC, its effect is described as strong, long-lasting and clear-headed. The first phase is usually cerebral, energetic and stimulating, associated with euphoria, motivation, creativity, sociability and focus. A progressive body relaxation may follow, balancing the mental activity without necessarily tipping into immediate sedation.

Growers describe onsets ranging from a gentle start followed by calm to an initial buzz that gradually turns into relaxation. Many highlight its energy and focus, although for some people the mental activity can feel a little scattered. As with any variety, the experience varies from person to person.

On the nose and palate, dominant terpinolene is joined by caryophyllene and pinene. Lemon, pine, wood, earth and spice blend over a Haze base, while the smoke is described as smooth and not too harsh. It is a profile that moves from citrusy, resinous freshness to an earthy, spicy and sweet finish.
