Godfather OG’s lineage sits within a family of OG phenotypes with varying labels. Some sources connect it to Bubba Kush, L.A. Confidential and Granddaddy Purple, while others place it in the XXX OG and Alpha OG line. In practice, our breeders work it as an indica-dominant genetic, around 60% indica and 40% sativa, with clearly body-led behaviour.

In flower it stands out for its large calyxes, orange or purple pistils depending on the phenotype, and deep green tones under a generous frost. How this genetic behaves in the grow

Godfather OG is fairly easy if you already have the basics covered, but its dense buds call for intermediate-level attention. It does well indoors, outdoors and in a greenhouse, with a typical flowering time of 8-10 weeks. Outdoors it is usually ready to harvest between late September and early October, depending on climate and phenotype.

Humidity is the key. Our breeders recommend good airflow, humidity of around 45-50% during flowering and thinning out the inside of the plant to avoid damp pockets between branches. It also responds well to moderate feeding, topping, canopy training and selective pruning. In outdoor climates with a dry end to the season, its most compact flowers are at less risk.

The effect usually comes on quickly, with a euphoric, happy and slightly cerebral lift at first. It then sinks into a deep, heavy and long-lasting physical relaxation. Godfather OG is best suited to the evening, when you want to switch off completely and are in no hurry to move.

Veteran growers count it among their go-to indicas, describing a powerful mental euphoria first and then total relaxation of head and body. They also note that it comes on fast and lasts for several hours, so it’s wise to take it slowly.
