Cherry Pie is a cannabis legend that has won over growers and smokers alike. This hybrid is the result of a masterful cross between Granddaddy Purple and Durban Poison, two titans of the cannabis world. Born in San Francisco's vibrant cannabis scene, Cherry Pie was created by Pieguy and refined by Jigga, the genius behind the Cookie Family.

Cherry Pie seeds produce sturdy, compact plants. The buds are a real spectacle: dense and chunky, decked with vivid orange pistils and touches of purple inherited from their Granddaddy Purple parent. The flowers are coated in a glistening layer of trichomes that gives them a frosted look and promises plenty of resin.

Cherry Pie flavour and effects

The flavour of Cherry Pie is a true treat for the senses. Break up the buds and the room fills with the scent of freshly baked pastry, hints of cherry and a slight tang. On the inhale the sweetness comes through, followed by a spicy, slightly sour exhale courtesy of Durban Poison.

With THC between 18% and 24% and next to no CBD, Cherry Pie strikes a perfect balance between relaxation and functionality. Although it's predominantly indica, it won't leave you glued to the sofa. Expect a deep, soothing calm in the body alongside a light euphoria that keeps the mind clear and active. Perfect for switching off while still getting on with your day.

Cherry Pie terpenes

Cherry Pie is rich in terpenes. The dominant one is myrcene, which brings an herbal, earthy aroma. Caryophyllene, with its peppery fragrance, adds spicy depth to the bouquet. Pinene recalls the fresh scent of a pine forest and adds a clean, lively touch.

These terpenes enrich the sensory experience and shape Cherry Pie's laid-back character. From deep body relaxation to a calm, contented mood, every draw is a perfect blend of flavour and wellbeing. The mix of myrcene, caryophyllene and pinene makes Cherry Pie an ideal choice if you're after a relaxing, comforting experience without giving up mental clarity.

Cherry Pie yield and flowering time

Cherry Pie is an excellent choice for novice and experienced growers alike, thanks to its sturdiness and reliable yield. Indoors it produces between 450 and 500 grams per square metre. The buds are ready after a flowering period of 8 to 9 weeks, delivering a high-quality harvest in a relatively short time.

Outdoors, Cherry Pie is just as much of a champion. Plants can reach 1.5–2 metres and yield between 500 and 700 grams per plant. The best time to harvest is late October, so the plants make the most of the long summer days. With good sun exposure and proper care, Cherry Pie will reward you with an abundant crop of dense, resinous buds.

This variety is valued not only for its yield but also for its adaptability. Cherry Pie thrives in warm, humid climates as well as in climate-controlled indoor set-ups, making it a versatile option for growers in many regions. Keep relative humidity at around 55–60% during the vegetative stage and drop it to 40% in flower to ensure optimal development and prevent problems such as mould.

How to grow Cherry Pie

Growing Cherry Pie is a rewarding experience for beginners and experts alike. This variety is known for its robustness and ease of cultivation, making it an excellent choice if you're new to growing cannabis. It's easy to manage yet still delivers impressive yields.

For the best results, Cherry Pie prefers a warm, humid climate similar to the Mediterranean. Indoors, we recommend daytime temperatures between 20 °C and 26 °C and night-time temperatures between 15 °C and 22 °C. Controlling relative humidity is important: 55% to 60% during the vegetative stage and around 40% during flowering. Outdoors, plant in April for a late-October harvest and make sure the plants get as much sun as possible.

Cherry Pie is resistant to pests and diseases, which reduces the risk of problems during the grow. Even so, keep a close eye on your plants and maintain a clean environment to prevent any infestation or disease. A good substrate with perlite, peat or coco coir helps retain moisture and supply the nutrients needed for healthy growth.
