Gelato 33
Gelato 33 offers a unique experience with its sweet, fruity flavour and potent effects that combine euphoria and relaxation. Easy to grow whatever your level, it delivers abundant harvests of dense, resinous buds.
Gelato 33, also known as Larry Bird, is a gem born in the San Francisco Bay Area. This strain is the result of crossing two heavyweights of the cannabis world: Sunset Sherbet and Girl Scout Cookies. Since its debut it has won everyone over with its unique terpene profile and balanced effects.
Its lineage is impressive. Sunset Sherbet, a cross of Girl Scout Cookies x Pink Panties, brings large, resinous buds with a sweet flavour reminiscent of tropical fruit sweets. Girl Scout Cookies, meanwhile, is one of the most famous hybrids descended from OG Kush, known for its freshly baked vanilla biscuit flavour and dense, sticky flowers. Together these two strains gave rise to Gelato 33, which brings out the best of both worlds.
It is a fairly compact, robust plant, ideal for both indoor and outdoor growing. Outdoors it can reach 2 to 2.5 m, developing a strong structure that copes well with a range of weather conditions. Its buds are super compact and rock-hard, adorned with bright orange pistils and deep purple hues that intensify in cooler temperatures. They are also covered in a dense layer of crystalline trichomes that gives them a spectacular frosty look.
Gelato 33 flavour and effects
Gelato 33 releases an irresistible aroma that blends notes of sour fruit, fresh citrus and a sweet hint of vanilla. Open a jar of these buds and you are wrapped in a fragrance reminiscent of a luxury dessert. The flavour follows suit: a smooth, creamy smoke with fruity undertones and a sweet, earthy finish. A real treat for the senses.
With THC between 20% and 25%, Gelato 33 guarantees a potent, memorable experience. Its CBD content is low, under 1%, so the psychoactive effect comes through even more strongly. It opens with a euphoria that sparks creativity and conversation, perfect for social get-togethers. As the effect develops, a deep body relaxation sets in that leaves you calm and content without leaving you couch-locked.
Gelato 33 terpenes
The terpenes in Gelato 33 make up a true symphony of aromas. Beta-caryophyllene adds a spicy, earthy touch that complements its sweet, citrusy flavour with a warm, peppery depth. Limonene, known for its citrus aroma, brings an uplifting, cheerful note, while myrcene adds herbal hints and a relaxing character that helps you unwind.
Linalool, with its distinctive lavender aroma, is associated with a mellow, serene character, making Gelato 33 an ideal choice for winding down at the end of the day. These terpenes not only enrich its flavour profile but also shape its effect, for a complete and enjoyable experience.
Gelato 33 yield and flowering time
Gelato 33 generously rewards its growers, indoors and out. Indoors, yields can reach 450 to 550 grams per square metre. It adapts well to a range of growing techniques, including ScrOG (Screen of Green), which helps maximise yield and keeps bud growth even. Indoor flowering is relatively short: 8 to 9 weeks from the switch in photoperiod.
Outdoors it shows its full potential, reaching 2 to 2.5 m in good conditions. Outdoor yields are just as impressive, at 700 to 900 grams per plant. In the northern hemisphere, plant in April for a harvest at the end of September. Some phenotypes may take a little longer and be ready in early October, although this is not usual.
Its short flowering period and high yields make Gelato 33 an excellent choice for novice and experienced growers alike. With the right care and good conditions, you can expect abundant harvests of dense, resinous buds of superior quality.
How to grow Gelato 33
Gelato 33 is a relatively easy strain to grow, ideal whether you are just starting out or already have experience. Its robust structure and adaptability make it suitable for many growing methods. Although it prefers warm, sunny climates such as the Mediterranean, it copes well with less ideal conditions.
For the best results, we recommend daytime temperatures between 20 °C and 27 °C, with slightly cooler nights that never drop below 15 °C. Gelato 33 prefers a relative humidity of 55–60% during the vegetative stage, lowered to around 40% in flower. At the end of the cycle you can bring it down to 30% to improve bud quality.
When it comes to pests and diseases, Gelato 33 stands out for its robustness and shows good resistance to the most common problems, making it easy to grow in different environments. Even so, it is always wise to keep an eye on your plants to keep them safe. A good-quality substrate with perlite, peat or coco coir helps retain moisture and provides what the plant needs for healthy growth.
