Master Kush is a true genetic gem from the famous Hindu Kush region. This mostly indica strain (90 % indica, 10 % sativa) is the result of a masterful cross between an Afghan landrace from the Hindu Kush and the legendary Skunk. Perfected in the Netherlands, this hybrid became a hit in Amsterdam’s famous coffee shops. With its deep roots in Hindu Kush genetics, Master Kush has earned its place as a favourite among growers and smokers alike.

The Master Kush plant has a compact, sturdy structure that looks like a Christmas tree. Its buds are dense, rock-hard and extremely compact, with colours ranging from dark green to orange and red hues in the pistils, a spectacular visual contrast. Its shiny white trichomes give the plant an almost snowy look, adding to its appeal and its reputation as one of the most resinous strains around.

Flavour and effects

The flavour of Master Kush is a delicious blend of earthy and pine notes, with a subtle hint of citrus on the exhale. Its aroma is just as enticing, filling the room with a sweet, earthy scent reminiscent of a deep forest. This complexity of flavour and aroma makes it a complete sensory experience.

With Master Kush you can expect a feeling of happiness and deep relaxation. With THC levels of 15 % to 20 %, it delivers a potent initial rush of euphoria that soon turns into serene calm. The effects are as intense as they are comforting, ideal if you want to unwind and enjoy a quiet night. Its low CBD content (less than 1 %) also complements its relaxing character without taking anything away from its powerful indica effect.

Master Kush terpenes

Master Kush stands out for its impressive terpene profile, which includes alpha-cedrene, alpha-pinene, beta-caryophyllene, borneol and myrcene, among others. These compounds not only enrich its flavour and aroma but also shape the character of its high.

Alpha-pinene brings a fresh pine aroma and a crisp, clean edge to the flavour of Master Kush. Beta-caryophyllene adds spicy, earthy notes that round off the flavour. Myrcene, the most abundant terpene in this strain, is associated with deep body relaxation.

Thanks to this rich blend of terpenes, Master Kush is not only a pleasure for the senses but also a deeply relaxing evening strain. Whether you want to lift your mood, melt into the sofa or simply enjoy a quiet night, it is a reliable and potent choice.

Yield and flowering time

Master Kush stands out not only for its potency and flavour but also for its generous yield. Indoors or outdoors, it delivers impressive returns that will satisfy beginners and experts alike.

Indoors, Master Kush can produce 450 to 550 grams per square metre, especially under a 300-350 W LED. Its flowering period is relatively short, with harvest in just 50-55 days from the switch in photoperiod. This speed makes it a popular choice if you are after fast, abundant harvests.

Outdoors, Master Kush can produce up to 800 grams per plant on the largest specimens. Harvest comes around late September, with some phenotypes running into early October. Its sturdy structure and resistance to a range of weather conditions make it ideal for growing in many different regions, even those with shorter summers.

Master Kush not only delivers large amounts of dense, resinous buds but does so in a relatively short time. Its resilience and ease of growing make it ideal for any kind of grower, giving a rewarding experience from germination to harvest.

How to grow Master Kush

Growing Master Kush is a rewarding experience for any grower, whatever your level. This strain is known for its sturdiness and ease of growing, making it ideal for beginners and experienced growers alike.

In terms of growing difficulty, Master Kush is moderately easy to handle. Its hardy, compact nature makes it suitable for different growing methods, including substrates such as perlite, peat or coco coir, which are excellent at retaining moisture.

For best results, we recommend growing Master Kush in a warm, sunny climate, similar to its native Hindu Kush. Daytime temperatures should stay between 20 °C and 27 °C, with nights about 4-5 °C cooler. It is essential to keep relative humidity (RH) at the right levels: 55-60 % during the vegetative stage and around 40 % in flower, lowering it to 30 % as harvest approaches.

Master Kush’s resistance to pests and diseases is remarkable. This strain is known for standing up well to the most common pests and diseases, which keeps problems to a minimum during the grow. Even so, we always recommend watching out for any sign of pests and taking preventive measures to keep your plants healthy and productive.
