Super Lemon Haze
Super Lemon Haze crosses the multiple champion Super Silver Haze with Lemon Skunk. The result is a near-perfect sativa-dominant strain. It does well indoors, but above all outdoors, where it reaches an impressive 2.5–3 metres. Its structure is classic sativa, with widely spaced internodes and slender, blade-like leaves. Its buds are extremely resinous and give off an intense lime and lemon sweet aroma. A wave of positive energy will rush through your body and mind, keeping you high for hours.
Super Lemon Haze is considered by the cannabis community to be one of the great Haze hybrids of all time, alongside Jack Herer, Super Silver Haze, Silver Haze and NL5xHaze, among others.
It is a strongly sativa-dominant strain developed by Greenhouse, which crossed the multi-award-winning Super Silver Haze with a Lemon Skunk that intensifies its lemon flavour.
Since its release, Super Lemon Haze has won major awards such as best strain at the High Times Cannabis Cup in 2008 and 2009, as well as first prize in the sativa category at the IC 420 Growers Cup in 2010.
Growers and smokers alike praise its powerful lemony Haze flavour and strong sativa effects.
How to grow Super Lemon Haze
Despite its sativa dominance, it is a very easy plant to manage, even indoors. But it really shows its full potential outdoors, in very sunny climates with a dry start to autumn.
Outdoors, if you germinate the seeds in early spring, it will grow very tall, sometimes over 3 metres. Its structure is typically sativa, with widely spaced nodes, long and very flexible branches and leaves with very slender leaflets.
The flowering period is relatively short, as it is harvested between mid and late October. In the final weeks the branches will almost certainly start to bend under the weight of the buds, so you will need stakes.
Indoors you will need a training technique to keep its height under control. Simple topping to get 4 main branches is a quick and effective solution.
From the switch to the flowering photoperiod, it is ready to harvest in about 9–10 weeks. During this time the buds keep swelling and producing huge amounts of trichomes.
Super Lemon Haze characteristics
Yields are outrageous, reaching 900 grams per plant outdoors on the biggest specimens. Indoors it gives up to 550 grams per m² under a 300–350 W LED.
It produces buds that will make anyone wonder whether they are indica or sativa. They are bulky but also extremely dense and particularly resinous. Dry sifting or ice-water extraction yields top-grade hash.
The aroma and flavour are a delight: anyone who has tried Super Silver Haze will find them similar, but with a much more citrusy, sour lime and lemon twist over a tropical background.
The effects lift you up straight away, with a very energetic and euphoric high that lasts for hours. It is ideal for daytime smoking and creative tasks.
