Swiss Chocolate CBD
Swiss Chocolate CBD is the perfect variety if you want the full character of cannabidiol with a great flavour, but without the typical psychoactive effects of cannabis. It has practically no THC and is very easy to grow, large and productive. Its flavour will remind you of Swiss chocolate: very refined and full-bodied on the palate.
Swiss Chocolate CBD is one of our new cannabidiol-rich varieties with practically no THC, as levels of this cannabinoid stay below 0.25 %. It is perfect if you are interested in CBD but don't want the typical psychoactive effects of cannabis.
To create it, we started with genetics that came into our hands more than 20 years ago. Its origin is uncertain, although it appears to be of Kush descent. Its intense chocolate flavour led us to call it Swiss Chocolate. Our highest-CBD mother was the other key piece, and we managed to get offspring with stable and very, very low THC levels.
How to grow Swiss Chocolate CBD
It is an easy variety to grow indoors and outdoors, very vigorous and with the typical Christmas-tree structure: numerous side branches around a large main cola.
Outdoors, if you germinate it in early spring, it reaches an impressive height of 2.5-3 metres, with large leaves and medium internodal spacing.
Flowering is short and it is harvested during the first half of October. Some phenotypes are even faster and will be ready by the end of September.
Indoors it adapts to any growing technique, especially SOG if you select a mother with columnar, less branchy growth.
Once flowering begins, the smell becomes very pungent, so if you want to avoid problems, fit a good carbon filter. From the switch in photoperiod, you will harvest in around 8-9 weeks.
Swiss Chocolate CBD characteristics
The buds are big, rock-hard and incredibly resinous. Any extraction enthusiast will enjoy making the tastiest hash or BHO.
The aroma and flavour stay true to its Swiss Chocolate mother, with intense chocolate notes and touches of earth and citrus.
CBD levels are always around 15 %, while THC sits between 0.20 % and 0.25 %. There are no psychoactive effects, but it brings a feeling of relaxation and well-being that does not stop you from doing any kind of activity.
Yields are very high: on the largest plants you can expect up to 900 grams. Indoors it won't be hard to get around 550 grams per m² with a 300-350 W LED light.
